Greetings,

Great artwork, I really enjoy the style and theme of the piece. Just a couple of details that don't add up for me, in regards to gravity and airflow. So there is room for improvement but like I said before it’s a great piece.

The vision is amazing, it's like a snap shot where time is preserved into this frame, where everything seems right. Tranquility is the back drop while all her worries in the world are pushed out of mind. She is surrounded by comfort and support, but... Just moments after this Snap shot, she could be transported back into consciousness with an epiphany which leads to a light hearted string of events. Or her nap could be cut short by an abrupt slap back into reality. *(I have an idea, it can be found at the end of the critique)

Originality is great even though this pose has been used time and time again. It’s a real pose that is a very natural human position to nap in. (maybe not with a filed tea cup) I myself have taken a nap or two (which started out as meditation) with some snacks and tea on the coffee table besides me, as I ponder events, and analyzed designs of prototypes. So to see her in this world is very unique and has its own life to it. Though I wondering what type of world you were trying to construct? I notice lots of fine details that were put in, but then several that seem to be left out. I am not sure if you wanted to reflect real world objects or just similar objects just as background. (I will cover all the minor details in impact) Otherwise this piece has an original sense about it. And seems to fit a world you created rather than mimicking our world.

In regards to Technique, I can’t say much, other then maybe the balance or blending is off in 3 places. The right corner of the window frame is standing out, the diagonal and horizontal line seem like they were not blended like the rest of the defining lines of the window frame. Those appear black while the other frame parts seem dark brown. The curtain has a bit too much white for me, with the flowing lines but I don't know how to fix that. Her hair on the right side is very well done, but I think there are one or two strokes of white too much on her right. Then on her left side there is a lot of white, maybe reduce the thickness of the white so it’s a much finer line weight. (A nail file works great at keeping a super sharp point on colored pencils without the way of a sharpener)

The impact is OK to good. I just have a bunch of minor details that are popping out.

Let’s start with the breeze. If the breeze is strong enough to push the curtain then the butterfly on the tea cup would either be facing towards the wind like the one on the pillow or have its winds open and late so the breeze would not know it over. You got the window sill butterfly correct since the hedge would deflect some of the breeze thus allowing the angle of the wings. Also if the curtain is blowing then the loose strains of hair should all so be swaying too.

Gravity is the next detail I would like to address. I feel as if the ribbon on the hip should have the tails more vertical since it's hanging off the dress over the edge of the sofa. But you did get the bracelet angle correct. The choker pearls were done well they appear to be slightly off set to her left. Her necklace was also done well and is hanging where I imagine gravity would let it fall. The beautiful long curl is an amazing show of physics, very well done; note that this curl is perfect the way it lays. The curl has a reverse 'S' shape, which is a great show of friction in regards to the lacy low cut neck of the dress. At the tail end of the curl, it sags below where the curl crosses the lace because the silky part of the dress does not have enough friction to support the weight of the hair against the breeze and gravity. The mid part of the curl heading towards the head after crossing the lace also sags into a ‘U’ from the breeze and gravity. Great attention to detail, even if it was an accident this is a very natural element.

When it comes to the breasts I think they should be asymmetrical, the force of gravity on her left breast would make it more flat since it would be on her side and her right breast would be more tear shaped since it would be resting on her chest. ** (Please see references, since I’m a male engineer, not an artist nor female so I don’t have an in-depth knowledge about the magical types of bras and support apparatuses.)

Other minor details:

When it come to the furniture, (I am no interior designer but) if there are bevels in the table support and pleats in the fabrics then the wooden boarder on the sofa/daybed/ottoman should also have some sort of beveled design carved in it.

The locking device in the window frame seems to misplaced, that should ether be a dual ball bearing mechanism that holds each window individually or a dual rod locking mechanism with a key hold. (PS I like the stain on the wooden frame behind the curtain nice detail)

The dress design is great except one part, the circle things under her bust line, seem out of place. I think a lace or another pelted ribbon like the one at the waist or the frizzy part on the edges of the sleeve would have suited the center better. Or since your charter is wearing a choker, a necklace and a low cut dress, then just leave the bust line on the plain side with just the boarder you have. (You don't need everything part of her outfit guiding eyes to her bust-line.)

My Tea OCD is kicking in a bit. Why tea bags? Such a high class lady should have access to quality lose leaf tea. You could also drop us some hints about her mood by putting a type of tea on the box instead of "teatime". Try an Earl Gray for that regal leadership stance or chamomile for an afternoon nap and de-stress. But judging by the dark color of the tea, maybe a Windsor Castle or Pureh which lets us know she is yearning for the taste of adventure.

Some thoughts about the service tea, the lose tea bag on the table should not be able to stand up right out of the box. That only happens when the bag has been used and thus requires a discard tray.

A couple of questions:
If she is using a serving platter and eating off of a tea saucer, then why are the cupcakes without a severing tray?
What style of bracelet is the red band? Depending on the type you might want to consider gravity.

*One of my favorite styles of art, (which I don't know if it has a name but) I will call it a collage or panel display and it features an art theme. It’s when artists makes a couple of pieces that tells a small story or are just a glimpse into that world through different lens. The “story” tends to be just a minute of that character's life, in that time and place within the world you have crafted. One of the ideas involves her waking up with an idea or a solution to her problem, catching her tea and placing it back on the table while breathing a sigh of relief. Or you could have a dramatic/sad couple of scenes where the tea cup falls, shattering on the floor and burning her hand. She can sit looking at the broken tea cup and saucer while mending her hand, transition to a mournfully looking image of her staring at an empty chair with an empty tea cup. Though in a sad scene you can hide a lot of details and imaginary, I would personally prefer a couple of happy scenes to accompany this great artwork in the world you have begun to create.
